Until today, no suitable treatment

To date, the treatment of snoring includes very general instructions and methods to open or maintain the upper airways and/or stiffen the body structures involved.

These general guidelines can help reduce primary snoring. However, these measures can be annoying, difficult to apply on a daily basis and cause complications or side effects. They must be applied constantly and they are not effective for everyone.

For example :

Hygiene and diet instructions: sleeping position, weight loss, elimination of alcohol or sedatives, treating nasal congestion with decongestants and/or a corticosteroid nasal spray
Wearing a device in the mouth at night: mandibular advancement orthoses such as mouthguards or tongue retainers
Wear a nasal retractor or bandage around the head, from the skull to the jaw, to keep the mouth closed
